Get it right the first time and it will save you money and time. A long time customer of our company came in and purchased tile to remodel her bathroom. She decided to use a “friend” to install her new bathroom floor and shower. She was trying to help her “friend” by hiring him for this detailed remodel project, but she soon found out that he did not have the expertise to tackle such a large project. Six months and $6,600.00 later, she still does not have a finished bathroom. She now has to correct his installation blunders by having our professional installation team tear out his work. This project is going to cost her more time and an additional $4,700.00!
Lessons to learn when using a “friend” …
- Never pay in full until the project is complete.
- Check out referrals.
- Have a written contract with an itemized list of work to be performed.
- Make sure that you have a written labor warranty for your records.
Save time and money by getting it right the first time.
